I want robots to take over the world. We’ll likely be better off. We created a shit storm of stupidity; have you watched cable news lately? Yep, we’re fkd. Robots will do better than we’ve done. My friend says we’re like the dinosaurs, only we are doing ourselves in much faster than they ever did. We’ll make great pets! Robots aren’t into feelings or politics or individuality… just efficiency. That’s why the Borg is the Federations #1 enemy. They are robot insects. The hive matters – Nothing else ….Kind of like China. They are Iike the Borg and Democracy is like Star Trek and Trump is like Captain Picard.. no maybe more like Kirk; cocky… nutty… wreckless.
Anyway. Robots. Why not? Who are we to judge them? We suck. Why else would we create them if not to address our shortcomings? Ever talk to a chat-bot? Ever been served a retargeted ad? Ever freeze just your head in hopes of being reanimated in 250 years? Without robots, forget it.
I had this conversation with a buddy of mine and he said “I don’t want robots to take over anything except fast food drink dispensers”. But he drinks a lot so he’s clearly biased. He wants robots to serve him.
Boy is he in for a surprise!
